Falling asleep & staying asleep has been a bit of a struggle for me throughout my life, & I know I am not alone with the stressful societal norms we have built in the USA. So, this week, I will be sharing a few tips & tricks that have helped me develop better sleep habits. Sleep is so important for our health, longevity, & our body's recovery. Enjoy your sleep & get some rest!
Tricks that have helped me sleep:
lavender sachet beneath my pillow
legs up the wall yoga pose before bed - drops one into the parasympathetic
yin yoga, restorative yoga, or yoga nidra class - find yoga nidra on Insight Timer
read (something not too interesting)
soothing teas: valerian, passion flower, blue lotus, chamomile
CBN oil from the cannabis plant - this helps me stay asleep
shower before bed - wash away the grime & worries of the day
eye pillow - filled with lavender is especially relaxing!
sleep tones/music: nature sounds, Solfeggio frequency 432Hz, binaural beats, pink noise
no blue screens 1-2 hours before bed
cuddling - human touch
soothing essential oils: eucalyptus, lavender, magnolia, copaiba, ylang ylang
striving to have a bedtime/wake up time to create a pattern in your body
