80's hair metal was blasting over the loudspeaker & immediately drew us in & off the mountain. Perfect for a mid-day snack stop, or some liquid courage, the T-Rex Grill has fun vibes emanating from it.
Surrounded by ski bums looking for a good time, the T-Rex Grill is probably my favorite mountainside* pit stop on any mountain. You can find it at the base of Copper Mountain's Timberline Express lift. There's a good beer selection, including some gluten-free ciders & canned cocktails. Grab a basic Pub Beer by 10 Barrel Brewing, or this here featured Crank Yanker IPA by Eddyline Brewing.
*both beers contain gluten*
If you're looking for a more relaxed vibe, look no further than the Ten Mile Tavern in the heart of Copper Mountain Ski Resort. You'll see it right away, just across from the American Eagle lift in Center Village. Choose to either warm up indoors, or sit back & enjoy that Rocky Mountain air on their outdoor patio, complete with fire pits.
They have plenty of 10 Barrel Brewing selections on tap at the Ten Mile Tavern. 10 Barrel even offers a gluten-free cider, the Soft Core Hard Cider. Not too sweet, this cider delivers just the right amount of appley goodness with a clean aftertaste. I was sitting at the bar a couple of weeks back & sucked mine down in a matter of seconds. They also have great gluten free cocktails at the Ten Mile Tavern!
Before my gluten free days, I was a big fan of 10 Barrel's Cucumber Crush (contains gluten) - a tangy sour. This is a divine beer, sold at both the T-Rex Grill & the Ten Mile Tavern. I highly recommend it next time you're riding the trails of Copper Mountain.
So, Next time you're shredding that fresh powder, be sure to treat yourself & take it easy at Copper Mountain: Ten Mile Tavern & T-Rex Grill.
*Chuck's Wagon is another favorite mountainside stop.
