Morning Nojito Mocktail

This Morning Nojito Mocktail has become my favorite little ritual to cleanse out toxins from the night & start the day with electrolytes! When I was struggling with the brunt of my Chronic Lyme Disease & other ailments, I was fainting a lot (& still have this issue if I don't keep my sodium levels in check), so my doctor told me to drink water infused with Pink Himalayan Sea Salt to bring in more electrolytes & boost my sodium levels. I started doing this, felt the effects, & realized during my Vedic studies that this is an ancient Ayurvedic health hack. I then started adding in fresh squeezed limes for their detoxifying & anti-inflammatory purposes, thanks to Ayurveda! Now, I add in fresh chocolate mint from my garden for the herb's further anti-inflammatory properties & digestive aid. Try out the Morning Nojito for yourself!

Ingredients

  • 20 oz. cup of water

  • 1 tsp sea salt

  • 1 fresh squeezed lime

  • 7 fresh (chocolate) mint leaves

  • optional: add in a splash of coconut water for sweetness & more electrolytes!

The Process

  • feel free to dump everything in a shaker & mix it up, or 1st add the fresh squeezed lime into your 20 oz. glass

  • next, I like to sprinkle in the sea salt from a shaker, but feel free to measure it

  • add your mint leaves, but be sure to crush them up in your hands first to release the oils & flavor

  • fill the glass with water (+ optional coconut water)

  • stir it up & enjoy!

You can add ice if you wish, but ice is known to constrict the stomach due to it's cold temperature. Ayurveda would say, no ice in your Morning Nojito Mocktail!
